The Hubbub was a two-hour nighttime block on Noggin that premiered on January 29, 2001. It aired from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays.
The Hubbub was an interactive block hosted by the Hubberator. Comments and poll answers from Noggin.com were played live on the screen in between shows. Noggin shows that played during the Hubbub included A Walk in Your Shoes, Big Kids, Sponk! and On the Team.
The block was discontinued in December 2001. A few months later, Noggin debuted a new nighttime block called The N, where A Walk in Your Shoes, Big Kids, and Sponk! all continued to air.
History[]
The block debuted on January 29, 2001 with the premiere episode of Big Kids.
The Hubbub hosted an event called Chattervision Monday. Every Monday, one special show was replayed with the Noggin.com chat shown throughout the entire episode.
The block's host, a chat bot named the Hubberator, read live viewer comments from Noggin.com. In a press release, Noggin's general manager Tom Ascheim said: "The convergent technology used during 'Hubbub' allows kids to participate in their own media, enhancing both its entertainment and educational value."
