The Electric Company is a live-action sketch comedy series produced by Sesame Workshop. Because Sesame Workshop co-owned Noggin when the channel was launched, it aired a variety of shows from its archive library on Noggin, including reruns of The Electric Company.

Segments of the show were also featured as part of Noggin's Phred on Your Head Show.

Story[]

A sketch comedy show aimed at elementary school age children to help develop grammar skills.

Summary from Noggin.com: After 15 years, The Electric Company is back! Mixing it up with clever, playful reading fundamentals, live action and animated segments, The Electric Company promotes the development of early readers, in a totally groovy way. Besides, nothing beats watching Spiderman, Morgan Freeman, Rita Moreno, Mel Brooks, and Bill Cosby (for the first two years) teach phonics. For more Electric Company, visit CTW.org

Segments[]

The original version of The Phred on Your Head Show featured Spider-Man segments, as is attested to in the permanent closing credits. However, these did not make it to the second year. The animated song "Right On" appeared regularly to the end, as a Noggin Boogie.
