Radio Noggin was a series of interstitials played between shows that corresponded to the online game of the same name. They aired from 2001 to around 2003/2004.
Online[]
With the introduction of the 2.0 rebrand to Noggin.com in late 2000 came a music-mixing tool titled "Radio Noggin", where users could create their own music tracks using a variety of music samples and sound effects. Users could then upload their tracks and have them displayed on their own homepage for anyone to listen to. There was also an online-exclusive weekly radio show, which was originally hosted by "DJ Ray". Some time in the first half of 2001, the show was revamped and replaced Ray with two new hosts, Darby and Dave. It is currently unknown when the show stopped airing.
When Noggin rebranded in April 2002, Radio Noggin was renamed to Radio N, but the game remained mostly the same.
Interstitials[]
In early 2001, Radio Noggin songs submitted by Noggin.com users began being showcased on the "live@noggin.com" portions of "up next" bumpers. (Previously, only Noggimations and logo art were shown off.)
Also in 2001, Noggin began using select music tracks created by Noggin.com users in "music videos" set to Noggimations. A total of 7 different Radio Noggin interstitials have been found:
- Mozart's Nightmare (music by smartgirl2)
- Head Mix (2 versions; music by vampclown)
- The Lab (music by Jacob)
- G-Rap (music by jenjen)
- Neon Floyd (music by Hannah)
- Rockin' (music by scottsol)
When Noggin rebranded in April 2002, the interstitials were changed to replace the Noggin logo with The N's logo, change all mentions of Radio Noggin to Radio N, and remove all mentions of the Noggimation Station (which was renamed to "The Animator" after the rebrand). The altered interstitials continued airing until around 2003/2004.
