Brain Food is a package series that aired on Noggin. It is a collection of pre-existing shorts centered around fun facts and gaining new knowledge. These were shown during commercial breaks and during episodes of Phred on Your Head Show.
Like other package series, the Brain Food segments were repackaged from Sesame Workshop and Nickelodeon's archives. The only newly-made footage was the opening and ending animations.
Logline
The package had an official summary on Noggin's programming site, which was:
- "Ever wonder how a fish breathes under water, or what makes a car motor run? The Brain Food series takes on the familiar and investigates, uncovering the mysteries behind everything in the world kids are curious about. (Okay, maybe not everything.)" (source)
Format
Each short opens with a stop-motion animation of a very tall sandwich. The camera pans down and shows all kinds of strange foods in the sandwich, then reveals that it is all going into the head of Noggin. A placemat is shown with the words Brain Food and an icon of an Italian man who says, "For your noggin!"
